BEAM “helped write this song and yeah, once again, his little pockets are crazy and I love experimenting with new pockets, new rhythms,” Bieber explains.
Justin Bieber released a new song this week, his second in as many weeks. With “Honest,” on which Toliver contributes guest vocals, Bieber follows up his recent single “I Feel Funny,” which was accompanied by a music video shot by Cole Bennett and featuring a cameo from Don Toliver.
Despite being an upbeat song, “Honest” has its own visual. Another Bennett-cut clip shows the two artists riding pimped-out snowmobiles like they’re in a James Bond movie. Like “Funny,” “Honest” keeps its musical feet planted firmly in hip-hop territory.
Ebro Darden caught up with the Canadian pop singer on Apple Music 1’s New Music Daily to discuss the new track and his collaborators, who include Jamaican-American rapper, songwriter, and producer BEAM.
BEAM “helped write this song and yeah, once again, his little pockets are crazy and I love experimenting with new pockets, new rhythms,” Bieber explains. “I’m a drummer, so for me being able to experiment with those little pockets is it’s fun.”

And Toliver, he enthuses, “I just love his melodies these are honestly insane. He has a really amazing cadence to his songs and his music. And I’m just a genuine fan. He’s very unique.” Darden’s full interview with Bieber airs next week.
According to Universal Music, the song is Justin Bieber’s first official single since “Ghost,” which ended his Billboard 200 chart-topper Justice and was also a No. 1 on the Billboard Pop Airplay Chart.
There will be multiple chances for Justin Bieber to add to his trophy collection at the 2022 Billboard Music Awards on May 15, where he is up for 13 trophies. He has won 21 BBMA awards, making him the third most decorated artist in BBMA history.
As part of his Justice World Tour, Bieber will perform at the Toyota Center in Houston on Friday (April 29).
