As a music listener, you always want to keep up with the latest trend and know what is being played on the radio. While it’s very difficult to keep up with all of them, there’s one, in particular, that is currently getting a lot of attention: indie EDM.
As the name implies, the indie EDM music genre is a mix between electronic dance music and independent artists. Using the most popular social networks on the planet (Soundcloud, Bandcamp, etc.), they’re able to broadcast their work — which is a big step considering how many prominent indie labels are currently taking advantage of the situation by picking up some of these promising artists.
For those who consider good music only those in the mainstream, I can ask you: Who needs only mainstream artists when you have an ocean of amazing independent music talent?
Seriously, so much of the music produced by independent musicians is just as good, if not better than the stuff made by mainstream artists. Open your mind and your heart because from now on the independent music industry is booming.
I can tell you more. Listening to your favourite songs or albums on repeat might get boring, let’s be honest. That’s why you need new music and playlists to freshen up your taste in music. You can listen to our full playlist below or know more about each artist by scrolling down the page.

When the song drops, it will make you want to dance around your room—and if you’re working out, this is an excellent choice! The track also sounds like it could be used for a rave at Burning Man or a festival in the desert somewhere.
It’s definitely left-field and unusual but also very danceable and catchy. Check it out and follow the artist on Spotify.

The song starts off with an atmospheric intro before building into an epic drop filled with tropical house synths and percussion that will keep you moving throughout the entire song.

5) THE CHRIS RUBEN BAND – Won’t See You (GROOVE TEMPLE Remix)
The Chris Ruben Band released a new single called Won’t See You (GROOVE TEMPLE Remix) this month and it’s guaranteed to be your new favourite song.
The track has an amazing rocky vibe that makes it perfect for listening on a road trip or during a workout. It’s also perfect for a party or any time of day: from morning commutes to late-night drives, this single will keep you feeling good no matter what time it is. This song could be on video games as the soundtrack, for sure!
The band is from New York, and the singer is based in Setauket, so he’s definitely got some hometown pride going on—but don’t let that fool you! His voice is smooth and soft but still packs a punch when needed. He is a proper rock star mixing his music with EDM for a different experience, and it works very well.
You can listen to the song on YouTube or Spotify now! If you like what you hear, make sure to follow him on both platforms so we can all keep up with him as his career grows!
6) DJ G-STRING – I Want You to Know
A new song called I Want You to Know by DJ G-String has been released. This EDM song is a love song and works great for the party, trip soundtrack or the gym. We loved it.
It’s also a great dance song that you can listen to when you’re at the club. The singer is based in the United States, Chicago, and has a very unique voice.
I Want You to Know is a smooth, funky house song with strong female vocals. The singer sounds like she’s singing about someone who makes her heart race—and she wants him to know it!
The single is available on Spotify and other streaming services if you want to check it out and follow the artist!
7) KOKO – Bittersweet
If you’re looking for remarkable EDM music to add to your playlist, we’ve got a suggestion: KOKO.
In the world of electronic music, there are two main camps: the mainstream and the indie warriors like this band.
If you’re looking for something that’s a little more out-of-the-box than what’s being played on the radio, but still has an easy-listening quality that lends itself well to a club environment, then indie EDM by Koko might be right up your alley. Especially with high quality like this one.
The best way to find out if this is your cup of tea? Just try it! We recommend checking out KOKO’s single Bittersweet first. The artists are based in Bristol, England, and have been releasing music on Spotify since 2019, and they have songs reaching 2 million plays already such as “Tell Me Do You Care?”.
Their style is described as “electronica” with influences from synth to dark pop. Their latest release was just a week ago and features dance beats and very enjoyable male vocals (which is always a plus). Check it out and follow the artist!
8) GEMINI CHRIS – If You Want My Body
If you’re looking for quality danceable music, we’ve got the best way to find it: by listening to our favourite independent artists and including them in your playlists! Check out this one.
We’re talking about GEMINI CHRIS, a DJ and producer based in London who has just released an amazing new single called If You Want My Body. This single blends techno, and progressive house with pleasant vocal effects and dance beats—it’s the perfect mix of classic sounds and modern technology.
It’s not just the song that makes this release so amazing, though—the vibe of this track makes it a proper nightclub wherever you are. I think this is exactly the kind of music that has the same level of quality as Calvin Harry’s work but does not receive the same level of corporate support.
To help artists such as these reach a wider audience, we are promoting them accordingly. You can listen to the song on Spotify by clicking below and following the artist!
9) EMEYE – Space
Are you looking for some new indie EDM to add to your playlist but you are into something more summery? Here are the best reasons to check out EMEYE‘s new single, Space.
Emeye is a UK-based group (or DJ) and producer, their songs remind us of artists like Chris Martin and Calvin Harrys. He writes about love and heartbreak but also features meaningful lyrics.
His voice is smooth and his music is dreamy—it’s a perfect combination for a slow dance with your sweetheart or an evening alone with the stars shining outside. The song is a mix of EDM and commercial pop with male vocals. It’s got a great beat that’ll get you dancing, but it also comes with some serious emotional weight.
Space was released on Spotify last month, so check it out! And if you like what you hear, follow Emeye on Spotify so that you can be the first to know when he releases more music.
10) SUPER FËMMES – Guilty Pleasure
If you’re not already listening to this track by SUPER FËMMES, you should be. It’s a perfect example of the kind of indie EDM that is delivering the goods in 2022.
The song is called Guilty Pleasure, and it’s a groovy disco anthem that’s sure to get your groove on. It’s got those classic Scandi vibes that we love so much—think ABBA meets Tove Lo. It’s also got a killer chorus, with lyrics that are just begging to be sung along with. Same effect as Everybody’s Free.
SUPER FËMMES had their first release on Spotify this year, but the girl’s band has already made their mark on the music scene with their unique sound and amazing voice.
The group is based in Sweden (Stockholm), but they sing in English with an accent that makes us feel like we’re right there with them as they belt out these powerful lyrics!
If you’re looking for some new music to add to your playlist, check out SUPER FËMMES on Spotify and follow the band!
