Soundtrack Experimental Music That Will Hypnotize You Shaking Your Ears Up And Challenging What Music Could Be

Will Lisil 27 August 2022

Experimental and Soundtrack are genres in which artists explore and test the boundaries of music composition, be it with textures on their instruments or with different sounds and beats.

While we are used to being told that music is “dog eat dog” and that “the more challenging your music, the smaller your audience will be,” those rules no longer apply.

Thanks to the internet, artists can promote their music without record labels and reach a vast global audience at zero cost. Platforms such as PopHits.Co simply opened the gates of music distribution and this totally changed the scenario, giving freedom to creativity.

Experimental and Soundtrack music is an awfully tame term to describe some of the strange and wonderful works out there. While experiments (like their name suggests) are conducted to better understand the world, experimental music, in the hands of innovative creators, comes together to create something wholly new.

KABIR SEHGAL, AMAAN ALI BANGASH, AYAAN ALI BANGASH	releasing Sand And Foam

This scenario can lead to wild psychedelic sounds and ear-shaking arrangements. The genre rarely shakes up any preconceptions you might have of music itself. It can shake your ears up, challenging what music could be. Experimental and Soundtrack music is intriguing, incredibly diverse and can be hard to categorize but awesome to listen to.

The category Experimental is defined as a form of art involving the use of avant-garde or modernist elements and techniques.  We agree that experimental music often has a strange sound that can be quite challenging for your ears.

This article is about some of those unique experimental tracks we’ve recently picked to be played in one of our new playlists. Relax, open your mind and use your imagination, it even works as soundtracks for film productions and as an ASMR sound therapy if you know what I mean. ASMR, or autonomous sensory meridian response, is an experience of tingling sensations in response to specific triggers like audio, visual, or sensory ones, it’s worth learning about it.

You can listen to our full Experimental Playlist by clicking here, which contains some of the artists’ music, or click the button below to check out another playlist about Soundtracks and Film Industry, also know more about the artists’ work by scrolling down the page.

1) AYAAN ALI BANGASH – Sand And Foam

AYAAN ALI BANGASH is an artist from the United States, New York. He recently released his album “Sand And Foam” in collaboration with KABIR SEHGAL and AMAAN ALI BANGASH.

This album has a lot of different elements, but it’s mostly Bhangra and Jazz that can be heard throughout the entire project. It’s a magnific fusion of the East and West artistic traditions. The album contains classical Indian music, great jazz harmonies, trap drums, and neo-synths.

The first song on the 8-track album is called “The Wonder” which for sure will transport you to another dimension. This song has a very chillout vibe to it, making it perfect for relaxing after a long day at work or just chilling in general. In addition, the possibilities for soundtracks here are very fertile for cinema productions.

It’s a piece of art and had many special guests contributions by Claudia Acuna (vocals), Latin Grammy nominee; Tivon Pennicott (sax); Caliph (rap), Oran Etkins (saxophone), Malini Aswathi (vocals), Sudha Raghunanthan (vocals).

There are plenty more songs on this album that are worth mentioning like “Prophets of Prose” which features some great female vocals and world music influences throughout as well as some awesome cinematic sounds too. Check it out, visit their website, and follow the artist on Spotify!

2) SMYLES – Trans-Emotional

If you’re looking for a little bit of jazz with a little bit of Latin instrumental beats, and contemporary sounds, then you might want to check out the newest album from SMYLES.

SMYLES is an independent artist from Washington DC who has been making music for years but releasing on Spotify since 2019. His latest album Trans-Emotional is a 10-tracks collection of songs that blend jazz, Latin, hip-hop and R&B with contemporary sound and instrumentals.

The album starts out with “A Kween’s World” which features an easy-listening vibe that will make you feel like you’re in a big band or on a cinematic soundtrack. The second track “This Hoochie, That Nigga” has more of an island vibe with reggae influences—perfect for relaxing by the pool when it’s too hot out to do anything else!

The third song “Estoy Borracha, Sin Rinón” has more of an urban feel with synthesizers and futuristic sounds—it’s definitely one of my favourites! There are many different tracks to explore, we are sure you will love them. Check it out, visit their website, and follow the artist on Spotify.

3) FRENCH LOBSTER – Rainy Night

If you’re looking for new hip-hop single to get your head bobbing and your feet tapping, look no further than FRENCH LOBSTER‘s Rainy Night. The song is a perfect blend of chillout hip-hop and easy-listening sounds—a combination that makes it great for listening at home or on the go. It’s amazingly relaxing.

The song is an instrumental track with an easygoing guitar melody and a soft, smooth beat that makes you want to close your eyes and just soak in the music.

It has the feel of a classic soundtrack for a film or TV show, but with an updated twist that will appeal to anyone who loves hip-hop beats.

And if you want to check out more from FRENCH LOBSTER, they have plenty more singles available on Spotify! Check it out, visit their website and follow the artist to get updated

4) RAYNALD GRENIER – Symphony No. 1 In D Minor

If you’re looking for something to kick back and relax to, then RAYNALD GRENIER‘s Symphony No. 1 In D Minor EP is a perfect choice. This 3-track EP is full of epic classical sound that will take you on a cinematic journey through the streets of Canada, Québec City.

A great way to enjoy his music is while you do nothing! He plays easy-listening tracks with slow tempos and smooth instruments, such as violin, that you will love due to the quality of it. It’s not only the sound that is outstanding, but it’s also the quality of production.

The artist is not alone in this production, and the conductor Gilles Léveillé did a terrific job along with the ‘Global Studio Philharmonic Orchestra’. This EP is just amazing, and you must pay attention to it fully, but don’t just listen to one track, our favourite track is 3rd Movement: Et Spiritus Sancti, but you must check the full EP.

As a pianist and conductor for diverse musical and vocal groups, Raynald Grenier began his musical career in the 1980s. Having mesmerized audiences in the United States, Canada, and Europe with countless stage performances, Raynald decided to turn his attention to musical composition and creation instead of performing on stage. It’s years of experience that resulted in this great project.

A spellbinding musician, Grenier has become known for his enchanting harmonies for ballets, operas, and symphonies. His newest release, “Symphony No. 1 in D Minor”, is influenced by Mozart, Beethoven, and Mahler. It’s classical high-quality music here, so check it out, visit his YouTube channel, and follow the artist on Spotify.

5) JOHN LESLIE HULCOMBE – Cosmic Echoes

Australian artist John Leslie Hulcombe‘s new single, “Cosmic Echoes,” is a dreamy, psychedelic journey through the netherworlds of soft rock and pop. It’s a song for slow-motion movie lovers and the people who live for instrumentals. The track is full of beautiful guitar and piano work that will have you nodding your head along to the beat. This piece is an instrumental version of the artist’s release “Sanctuary”.

The song starts off with a simple riff on an acoustic guitar—but quickly moves into something more complex, with everything joining in to give it a cinematic quality. The artist’s concept is peaceful but powerful as if he was composing it right for cinema productions that need an epic feeling even in calm scenes.

There are no lyrics on this track, just hauntingly beautiful guitar melodies that make you want to close your eyes and feel every note as it plays through your headphones. It presents instrumental medleys that will get anyone’s mind off their daily troubles and into another world entirely: one where everything feels better, probably in contact with the cosmos!

A number of collaborators have contributed to this instrumental track, including Peter Koppes, a long-time member of “The Church” one of Australia’s most influential bands. Peter is responsible for guitar effects including Gregorian choir and strings as well as guitar solo using an E-bow. Drums are performed by one of Australia’s most sought-after percussionists Jackie James Barnes. It is evident that all contributors have demonstrated their great skills in the final product as a whole.

If you’re looking for some chillout music or something that will soundtrack your next production or even a road trip, this is definitely worth checking out! Visit the artist’s website and follow him on Spotify.

6) TS MUSIC – So Far

TS MUSIC‘s new EP So Far is a dreamy and mellow 6-track collection of instrumentals that brings together the best of 80s rock and classic rock, with just a hint of heavy metal.

The album opens with “Cosmic” featuring guitar dreamy, mellow vibes, and it doesn’t get much more relaxing than that, the drums as smooth and we loved the way the artist maintains it calm even during some euphoric guitar riffs.

Next up is a track that will remind you of cinematic music from the 80s—it’s called “Faberge.” The third song on the album is a mix of different metal rock styles, the track is called “Mana” which has a melodic guitar solo at the end that will make you want to bang your head along with it.

Our favourite track is Windsor, but It’s worth spending some time listening to the whole EP. Check it out today! Visit the artist’s YouTube channel and follow him on Spotify.

7) HELE – Air Between Us

If you’re looking for a soundtrack that transports you to another world in the first second, this is the perfect track for you.

The song “Air Between Us” by HELE is an instrumental song with a lot of layered instrumentals and ambient sounds. It’s very calming, but at the same time, it has a deep undertone that keeps you focused on the music. The song has a cinematic feel to it—it would be perfect for a movie soundtrack!

I really like how this artist uses lots of different instruments in her songs. Hele uses traditional instruments like guitar, piano and drums as well as more exotic instruments. The result is an eclectic mix of sounds that creates a unique experience every time I listen to one of her songs!

This song would be perfect for background music at special moments, or even events where you want people to feel relaxed but not bored. It would also be great for meditation or yoga practice if you don’t want something too distracting—just enough movement to keep things interesting while still allowing yourself time to get in touch with your breath and focus on your body’s energy flow.

If you enjoy this kind of experimental electronic soundscape music—or if you just want to try something different—you should definitely give this one a listen! Check it out, visit her website and follow her on Spotify.

8) V-TRAIN – Lo-Fi Sensation

When I first heard the album Lo-Fi Sensation by V-TRAIN, the first thing I thought was “this is a super source of cinematic good vibes soundtracks”

The ten tracks on this album are all instrumental jazz and boom bap beats with a super catchy ’80s vibe and sounds that are as easy to listen to as they are relaxing.

You can tell that V-TRAIN put a lot of time into making sure that every beat had just the right amount of jazz, hip hop, and funk. Painful past is a very good example of the concept of his work, mixing hip-hop with lyrical vocals.

I really loved how cinematic each song felt—it made me think of all the various types of movies you could use this music for: from romantic comedies to action flicks, even TV shows.

To top it all off, there’s an easiness about this album that makes it perfect for chilling out. If you’re looking for something new to add to your collection or want some out-of-the-box new tunes for your productions, check out V-TRAIN’s Lo-Fi Sensation! Visit his website and follow him on Spotify.

9) THE OTHER COLORS – Oups

The Other Colors (aka Marie Möör) just released a single called “Oups” that is unlike anything you’ve ever heard. This is a combination of a lyrical French text with an original melody and a tune to go with it, combined with humour that is intelligent and thought-provoking.

It’s a mix of pop, synth wave, and spoken word with electric beats and female vocals. The song has an experimental feel that will draw you in from the first beat. Listeners will be pulled into its unique blend of genres and then left entranced by its hypnotic vocals.

It’s refreshing to hear a female vocalist fronting this kind of project—especially one who doesn’t just sing but also raps over beats. Her voice is powerful and complex.

There’s an interesting contrast between the lightheartedness of the music and the dark subject matter of these lyrics. It makes me want to keep listening to this song and go with the history flow.

This is the kind of EDM cinematic soundtrack that can grab the attention of the audience in abstract scenes like no other. And if that weren’t enough to get you interested in checking out this artist, she has got a cool portfolio with tons of other music for you to check out! Don’t forget to follow her on Spotify.

10) AWAVEZ – Dictators Beware

A Swedish artist named AWAVEZ has released a single called Dictators Beware, and we strongly suggest checking it out.

The song is an eclectic mix of gothic, avant-garde, experimental electronic music with an art-pop twist. The vocals are delivered by a male voice in an art rock kind of way that’s definitely quirky and express some anger—but also darkly intriguing. And the beat? It’s one of those beats that make you want to dance around your room like a madman.

The track begins with a soft, ambient synth that builds quickly into a funky bass line and an upbeat drum beat. The vocals are male, slightly operatic, and use the breathy quality of spoken word poetry to convey a sense of urgency. This urgency is emphasized by the lyrics focus on political themes: Ukraine War.

All in all, this is some pretty cool stuff! You can check out AWAVEZ’s website for more information about his music, as well as follow him on Spotify.
