1) CINDY_LOUISE – Monster
CINDY_LOUISE is a South African singer-songwriter based in the Netherlands, Breukelen, who draws on her European influences, as well as American ones. In her new single “Monster,” she combines indie pop with R&B and electronic music in an experimental way that is reminiscent of Björk.
Her warm, dark vocals are reminiscent of Sia, but with a distinctive European twist. The song is soothing and relaxing, but also powerful—it’s an anthem for anyone who has ever felt like they needed a true eye-opener into their lives. The message is: Do not fake self-confidence, but rather learn to love and respect yourself.
The track builds to a climax where the drums come in and the vocals soar over them, creating a sense of triumph amidst all the darkness. The production of this song is incredible—the synths are varied and interesting, but never overpowering or distracting from the vocals themselves.
In fact, they add to them in ways that make it seem almost like there are multiple voices singing at once! We will leave it to you now, check it out and follow the artist on Spotify!
2) LACHIE GILL – Wasted Time
Lachie Gill‘s new single Wasted Time is mellow and feels like a slow summer day. It’s a song that will get stuck in your head and stay there.
The track has an acoustic style, we can say that it has delicious pop rock features, a very commercial appeal and of course Australian influences. Guys this is just perfect for a radio hit! It has an easy listening feel to it, which makes it super catchy and easy to sing along with. This guy will fly higher, just wait for that, he is the winner of The Voice – Session 11.
The singer-songwriter has a soft voice that is very soothing to listen to. He also has a unique way of weaving his lyrics together into beautiful poetic verses that make you feel like you’re floating on air while listening to them, it’s about romantic words meaning “wasting time with you never feels like wasted time”. It’s about love, relationships and time-wasting – in a positive way – with the right person. It’s actually about all of us!
If you love songs that have an anthemic feel then this one is for you! It’s an infectious tune that will leave you humming for days afterwards! Check it out and follows the artist on Spotify.
3) BRENDAN BRADLEY – Reprogram Me
The single “Reprogram Me” by Brendan Bradley is a super catchy, commercial, and quixotic indie pop song that will make you want to dance around your room. It’s got a dreamy rock sound, but it still has an edge to it. It’s like the best of both worlds, also a fusion of EDM. Great formula!
The song is based on the soundtrack to a VR musical theatre piece called “Non-Player Character The Musical”. The artist has worked hard as he is an actor, director, producer and singer, and worked with amazing professionals who also collaborated on this song.
Brendan Bradley is an alternative artist from Los Angeles with US rock and EDM influences who started making music for releasing on Spotify this year. His latest release “Reprogram Me” features vocals from both Brendan Bradley and the main character of the Musical, who is a robot from another dimension, based on Virtual Reality.
If you love catchy songs with super catchy melodies and great production value then this is definitely something you should check out and follow the artist on Spotify!
4) 7000APART – No Is A Nice Word
7000APART‘s from Sweden are bringing one more new single, “No Is A Nice Word”, which is a perfect example of what indie pop can do.
It’s got all the right elements: female and male vocals, soft rock instrumentation, an easy listening style and commercial appeal. But it also has some nordic influences that make it stand out from the crowd, think of a fusion of heavy metal guitar style with folk. This is just amazing how they blended it all so well!
The song is about moving on but for a pre-breakup—the narrator knows it’s time to say goodbye but doesn’t want to be rude about it. She just wants to be nice about it, which makes sense when you consider what a nice word “no” is, above being very healthy to impose respect on your own boundaries.
It’s hard not to like this song—it’s catchy and warm without being too saccharine-sweet or syrupy-sounding. It feels like something you could sing along with in your car while driving down the city, or on a country road on a sunny day.
If you’re looking for something new in the world of indie pop or want another artist to boost your playlist, so you can keep up with their new releases as they come out, I highly recommend checking out 7000APART and following them on Spotify!
5) SIMESKY+FRITCH – Such Imperfection
It’s hard to find a band that can make you feel like you’re in a time warp and at the same time create a new sound that is completely unique.
SIMESKY + FRITCH have done it with their single “Such Imperfection.” The band’s indie pop rock music is nostalgic, mixing elements of new wave, rock, dark-pop, 80s vibes and post-punk features into one cohesive package. The vocals are both male and have the ability to go from smooth to harsh at the drop of a hat.
The song itself has an intense feeling of longing for something better—an imperfection in life or love that causes one to question what could have been if only things had gone differently.
If you’re looking for some new music to check out or just want something different than what’s already out there on Spotify (and everywhere else), give this single a listen, and follow them on Spotify!
6) KINGA ANGELYS – Second Chances
This is a track that is sure to get you tapping your foot as soon as it starts playing. It’s got a catchy EDM-Twee fused beat and some great vocals from German singer-songwriter Kinga Angelys.
The song is about falling in love and how she believes in second chances, despite the fact that her first relationship ended. She wants to show her ex that she’s changed and this is the perfect time to kiss and leave the past behind.
It has all the hallmarks of an indie pop hit—love history, is commercial, poppy vibe, European influences, female vocals—but it also has some twee elements which give it an edge over other similar artists.
I would recommend checking out more of Kinga’s work and following her on Spotify!
7) IRYS – Riot
IRYS is an indie pop artist based in Berlin. She has a new single out called Riot, and it’s the perfect song for your next party playlist.
The song is a blend of electronica, synth-pop, trip-hop, and very alternative—a combination that makes for a super edgy sound that’s just right for any occasion.
The track has elements of dark pop, and this is what made it even better, think of Boys Don’t Cry by Anitta, but smoother. We can say it’s a new era for Dark-Pop.
IRYS’ vocals are strong and confident and very well executed throughout the track as she can also whisper the lyrics in your ears in a very sexy way. Honestly, we were just blown away by it!
Riot is great for parties or road trips; it gives off an upbeat vibe without being too distracting from whatever else you might be doing at the time. It’s also great as background music for sex fun, well, I mean, special moments—you can really feel yourself getting into the zone while listening to this one. Check it out and follow the artist on Spotify!
8) CLARE EASDOWN – Your Eyes Are Ice
Clare Easdown is a Melbourne-based indie artist whose latest single “Your Eyes Are Ice” was released some weeks ago. The song has been described as “dark wave,” but I think it’s more like dark pop or alternative with elements of art pop and trip-hop.
The music is soothing and melodic, with a cinematic feel that reminds me a little of Florence + the Machine. The lyrics are simple but thought-provoking, with a dark side.
This song is about pure lust, deep attraction and the inevitable power of desire. It is as if one’s eyes are solidified water with the power of an illicit drug.
The song was recorded in Clare’s hometown of Menai, Australia. You can tell that she was inspired by her surroundings and European art and pop music that is super diverse.
Whether you’re looking for a relaxing listen or just some new music to check out on Spotify, I highly recommend this single! Check it out and follow the artist on Spotify.
9) ROBINSON – Teenage Renegade
The latest single from independent artist Robinson, “Teenage Renegade”, is a song that’s as much about the past as it is about the future. It’s a nostalgic look back at a time when we were all young and wild, but one that also celebrates the present and looks forward to what’s to come.
The song opens with a catchy, sing-songy vocal line and a steady beat—the kind of thing you can dance to at any party. Robinson’s portfolio has songs with more than 118 million plays only on Spotify, another with 35 million plays. Well, and there is a third one with 10 million plays. We have no doubt that “Teenage Renegade” will reach the top as well.
The lyrics are bold: “How can I forget this, you’re wasting my time”, she declares in the chorus. Well, relationships themed and emotional verses are present and work very well.
The song feels like it could be any generation’s anthem—it would have fit perfectly in the ’80s or ’90s as well as today. And yet, at its core, it’s not like an old song—it has enough of an edge to feel fresh and exciting.
Robinson is based in New Zealand, which makes sense given that her music sounds so distinctly Kiwi: it’s got an easy-going vibe and a laidback attitude that reminds me of summers on the beach with family and friends. We really recommend you to check it out and follow the artist on Spotify.
10) FYNYX NATION – God Only Knows
God Only Knows by FYNYX NATION is a song with an energetic synth-pop sound, alternative vibes, and 80’s-inspired vocals. The single features a catchy chorus that is sure to get stuck in your head after just one listen.
The chorus is backed by a retro-inspired sound that blends electronic elements with pop production to create an overarching feel-good vibe. The artist’s Canadian and Nigerian influences shine through in his delivery, which has the perfect amount of grit without being too gritty or too polished.
The best way to describe this song is striking. It’s exciting to listen to, it’s fun to dance along with, and it definitely makes you want to move around like Michael Jackson’s greatest songs always make us move our bodies, even when we don’t want to.
If you’re looking for something upbeat and energetic that will put you in a good mood, then check this out! Don’t forget to follow the artist on Spotify to support his art.
